Nakamura Eiji

S-san and i went to have our hair cut by this Japanese stylist who was in town. How everything came about was a long story... Sensei was telling us about hair salons in Japan last Sunday and how jyotsu the stylists were, which got us all excited about cutting ours one fine day in Japan too. Then, yesterday she came to class with a new hairstyle! tadah! Eiji-san happened to be here over the weekend and sensei got hers done just the day before. i had wanted to cut my hair anyway so S-san and i got sensei to help us make reservations!

It seemed that Eiji-san was supposed to come once every month to cut at Jeric @ The Central but due to his busy schedule in his own salon in Japan, he only comes when he is free now. i was quite anxious as i was not confident if i could communicate with him effectively in my half-past-6 jap or not.. i even prepared a "script" and brought along my dictionary just in case. haha.

We went for our appointment at 630pm. We were brought to our seats in front of ceiling-to-floor mirror panels. A towel was covered over my skirt thoughtfully. We got to choose our beverage from a menu too. Eiji-san was fully booked (with all Japanese customers) so we had to wait while he finished cutting for a previous customer. It didn't really bother us as we were excitedly busy guessing who he was. He came over to talk to us to discuss on the hairstyles that we wanted. For a director, he was very friendly. The shampoo girl came over shortly to wash my hair. The neck and shoulder massage during and after the wash was very good. The only thing i do not like was the uncomfortable chair at the rinsing bay. After chatting, we realised that our shampoo girl was one of the senior stylists there! haha! Shows how much face they give Eiji. What a pleasant surprise! The staff were very attentive but i do not know if it was only when Eiji was around.

We were very impressed with his skills and speed at which he execute his cut. Really sogoi! i managed to engage in some small talk with him and i didn't refer to my script or dictionary! hehe. He gave me what he called a cute hairstyle. i quite like it but i do not know if i would be able to replicate it myself especially after washing cos i'm a complete nuts when it comes to styling my hair... hope it is maintainable... In all, it was a great experience! And the cost turned out to be less than what we expected! Double bonus! hehe. (^_^)
