Brother BM2600

I've Finally Done it! i've bought my first serious sewing machine! but it is still in the box right now. Exhausted from lugging it all the way from Spotlight! Welcome to the family. :p

WALL.E

This heartwarming tale of two robots is funny and entertaining. The love story of WALL.E (short for Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-Class) and EVE is just so SWEET! awww..... (^_^) Of course, we must not miss the underlying message of taking care of our Mother Earth. Imagine living amidst skyscrapers of rubbish with a cockroach! Yucks! Hmm... which reminds me of cleaning my room... hee... If only i can engage M-O (short for Microbe Obliterator), the super cute cleaning robot that cleans every foreign contaminant!

Oh i like this magic show animation "Presto" that was screened before WALL.E. So funny! And the bunny was so cute! So many tricks up his hat! Haha. i like the pure wits of bunny in how it "fixed" the magician. (^^,)

Caramel Corn

Saw two new limited flavours so brought them back in the eco-bag that i made yesterday. The green one is cream soda which is so far, the yuckiest flavour i had tried! (T_T). Hope the coffee float is nicer...

[Update on 25 Aug] My colleague SL very happily gave me a green package when she got to the office. "Here. i saw this at the petrol kiosk and got it for you!" "Argh!! it is the cream soda caramel corn!!" In the end, the green pack was deposited in another colleague's (also a SL) mini pantry while she is away on holiday. Hehe.

Men-ichi @ JP

Ate the char siew ramen. The noodles not springy at all. The tonkotsu soup base too salty. The char siew ordinary. Presentation not appetising. Sum it up.... Don't try!

Rocking Horses

Finally got something done for myself amidst all the badminton and table tennis matches these two days. But the machine is a little cranky at times.

See the skipped stitches?? Made me unpick numerous times again... Is it time to upgrade?

Finally added a fastener to the bag

Still short of a label though... any suggestions for brand names?? Been cracking my head over this.

心花朵朵开

The Japanese Rose that i brought back from the Garden Fest has bloomed!! (^^,) But i didn't take care of it though... credit to mummy. Pity they are away for the weekend (again!?)

Bakerzin @ Vivo

Yet another birthday celebration at bakerzin. Had the Linguine in Mushroom cream sauce. LOTS of mushroom. i like! but the sauce is tooooo creamy... i got a bit sick of it after a while. Or was it just me?? We had the mango mousse cake too. It is quite nice but i also got a bit sick of it after a few mouthfuls... Maybe i was already full from the cream sauce...

Follow Your Heart

Ok. i simply must recommend this Haato flavour that i think is the nicest out of 9 i have tasted so far. Ohhh... no wonder the scales are rising... (>_<)

*Drum roll*
And the winner is..... Black sesame!

Oh and Green Tea is trailing by a cone length behind!

Mission Accomplished

When will i finally make one for me??

But also did this too. Yay! My dear cushion can have a change of clothes! :)

My Loot (again!)

Oh no! i went fabric shopping again!! i have to make another bag (lots of birthdays this month! :p). As i had used almost all of my fabrics before, i decided to go look for more fabrics. To show my sincerity, the least i could do is to give my friends a special limited edition bag! And so here are more fabrics, just in case! (^^,)

Money No Enough 2

i wouldn't usually watch a local production in a theatre, much less that of Jack Neo's. It so happened that SL had recommended the show to me and my parents also mentioned that they wanted to watch. So the whole family went. i think this is the first time we watched a show together since dunno-when. :)

A typical Jack Neo movie with LOTS of shameless blatant advertising for its sponsors. Had i pay to watch a 2hr long advert? This show is obviously targeted at families and the heartlanders and judging by the crowd in the fully-packed cinema, i think it is quite successful. Money should be enough for the movie makers.

My parents said it is nicer than Part 1 which i don't remember watching. The show is not without merits. Despite the predictable plot, unfunny jokes, bad lines and erratic sound, there are still some poignant moments which are commendable. And of course, the digs at ah gong.

Well, the movie can watch though i still think you could wait for the dvd or for it to be shown on tv. And warning: Prepare lots of kleenex if you are as trigger friendly as me. :p

[Sidenote]: Had chosen the wrong day to watch the show. Should had stayed at home to watch the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics! Caught the beginning and the ending. What a lavish ceremony! This is what i call fireworks!

Singapore Flyer

Taking advantage of the heavily subsidised tickets, i'm taking my very first ride on the Flyer! Since tomorrow is a working day (-_-"), decided to take an early flight so that can go home early.

After waiting for all friends to arrive, the sky is a piece of gloom by the time we were ready to board the flyer. Worse still, raindrops starting falling on the window pane. :(

Ready for take off!

Up up and away!

Lucky it stopped drizzling. But the sky is still dark at the Marina golf course...

Reaching the peak @ 165m

The cityscape

This is supposedly a model of the IR at the end of the ride.

i like this logo of the VIP lounge very much

i just realised i didn't take any nice shots of the whole wheel...

Thank goodness i didn't take the ride at night. With the limitations of my cam and me, nite shots are reduced to this...

The flight is not as scary as i thought. Abeit for some vibrations of the floor when people stomp their way round the cabin (which is quite scary especially if you are squatting and looking down at the ground like me when it happened), the ride was quite eventless and ended in a flash.

Read that the flyer spent a 6-digit sum to change direction of its course this week. Supposedly at the comments of a few feng shui masters. lol. Trust them to do that! After riding the wheel of fortune, maybe got some luck for the toto draw! haha. May the force be with you. :)

HortPark

We had a massive walkout to HortPark this morning just to get free cold KFC. -_-" Was quite surprised by the huge turnout. Especially when you see the long snake of red crawling.

Some people left right after claiming the free food. But since we had walked all the way here, it would be brainless if we didn't take some time to admire the flowers right?

Pity the greenhouses are not open. :( See the overcast sky. Ominous sign of the weather ahead.

See what's on the other side of the glass walls

The other parts of the Park is alike the Garden Fest. There were alot of other little themed gardens. But like-minded people are few. And with the looming sky, my great plan was aborted and we left to take shelter!

i can ride this!

Donut Factory

There's a new shop beside the pasta shop. Seeing that there is no biz even during lunch peak, SL and i decided to let them earn some of our money. hehe. :p Oh and dunno if it is due to the "poor" biz or some opening promo, the cashier offered to combine our half-dozens into a dozen so that we could have more savings! Wuhoo! i paid just $5.50 for these 6 big ones. :)

Still looking good after surviving all the murderous stares in the gym

Really can't tell these bonbons are donuts. Look more like yummy chocolates. Quite nice.

The Pasta Shop by Sakae

Saw that there's a new restaurant at TBP so we thought we would check it out. i think it just opened not too long ago. Some of the items on the menu were not available but still we were overwhelmed by the items there! i mean there are TONS of pasta to choose from. Sometimes having too much choices is not good. We couldn't decide what to eat! Finally i narrow the selection to my usual cream sauce and picked from one of the recommendations and ordered the TPS style carbonara. Basically that is spaghetti with bacon and an egg in cream sauce. The food is ok... average... but one of my colleagues say waraku is nicer. Well, i haven't eaten enough of waraku de pasta to comment. But i think i might come back again to try the other dishes.

It's all in a hard day's work

Nice things come in small packages. But small packages are the hardest to make! Finally used my much-loved pokka dot fabric but mummy said the colours not nice. (*sob sob* break my glass heart!) Next time i shall bring her when i go shop for fabric! humph!

Oh. i recycled one of my card-holders \/. Can you spot which of the above is it now??

Crafty Business

This is so CUTE! i didn't plan this when i first started on it but see how the stripes extend nicely to the handles. (^^,)v

i'm having two minds over giving this away. Decisions decisions! lol. :p

Tampopo Deli

What a lovely Sunday afternoon savouring the custard pudding from Tampopo Deli @ Liang Court Basement 1 in the comfort of my room. Had decided to skip today's jap test since i have not been doing homework and not studied for it too. Was having an internal struggle last night to go or not to go. Cos this is the first time that the law-abiding, goody-two-shoes (*rolling eyes with giggles*) me am pontang-ing a test! i'm not that good after all! :p

Do not be fooled by its plain looks. This yellow cup is smooth rich custard pudding topped with caramel syrup. i didn't like the slightly bitter taste of the caramel initially. But when coupled with the saccharine goodness of the custard pudding, it is simply a perfect match!

Green Tea Chiffon Cake also from Tampopo Deli. Nice delicate green tea chiffon with red bean. And that's my first sewing book from Kino in the background!

Tampopo (Revisited III)

Went to Tampopo as YZ thought that we might not want to go back to Cathay restaurant so soon. Had the layer tonkatsu set. Tender on the inside, crispy on the outside. Yummy. :) i was wondering what was inside the layered tonkatsu when i decided to dissect my food. It was thin layers of meat that look like bacon with lots of fat rolled up into the cutlet form! No wonder it is so tender. lol.

YZ's cake. it was supposed to be some strawberry cheese tiramisu?? Erm.. the only resemblance was just the cookies inside the cake. -_-"

The present! :)

Sneak Peek

Burnt a slightly shorter midnight oil this time round. Here's what i did for YZ.

Singapore Garden Festival 2008

Today's the last day of the festival. Some of the flowers have visibly wilted. But lots of others are still in bloom. BUT! i forgot to charge my cam and my batt ran dry after an hour!! *sob sob* so for the rest of the 5 hours. i just have to busk in the scent of the flowers using my "photographic" memory. Haiz...

i liked the African and the Shangri-la gardens best. Also the tulips and the flowers with the coloured screen. Though it is nice to be able to view the flora in a nice cool environment, i think they are still in their best elements under the wide blue sky.

There were lots of little children on school excursion. *why can't we go in now??*

Don't you just feel chirpy by just look at these erm... sunflowers? chrysanthemum? hee.. dunno :p

my fav sunflowers with the tiny pink flowers my mum plants too

Sidenote: Sorry for the crappy blurry pics. o_O
