First quickstep class today. Our original class had dwindled so as usual, they told us to combine with another class. i really do not like the new time slot as it is one hour later than my usual time. This means i have to loiter at Raffles City for one more hour which really is a torture when you have nothing to buy. That also meant that i would reach home very late. :( This new class also happened to be a medal class; meaning in preparation for the medal test which is some sort of exam that you can go for to get a cert to show that you can dance. lol. What do i need the cert for?? Not as if i'm turning pro... Well, at least the dance is a light-hearted one and we are all prancing and hopping around. :)

To continue or not to continue?
Tango's finally ended. My bones are breaking after today's class. Should i continue? Quick step is next... Maybe i should rest for a while. Seems to be experiencing fatigue. And it does not help that i do not have a fixed partner. :(

It Takes Two to Tango
Having missed last week's dance class, i've got lots to catch up today! And i know why it takes two to tango! cos if you do it alone, it is very hard to keep your balance. i have to constantly remind myself keep my core strong and practically hang on to my partner for support! And i think i lack the ATTITUDE to tango nicely. cos you have to "step step" some of the footwork really fast and with precision! And there are some funny twitching, twisting and turning of the body to give - as my instructor calls it - the "constipated" look. Perhaps i need more practice... sigh... i still miss my slow and graceful waltz!

Desperately Seeking Dance Partner
Today's the last lesson of intermediate waltz class... Actually, last week was the last lesson. No, officially, the last lesson was two weeks ago. We extended the class again and again cos we really prefer waltz and we really need to practice our steps which are getting too much for uncle CL and auntie AN to remember... Gotta help write a step by step manual for them... i like my class. Like what our instructor said, waltz people are friendlier. (Yep, that's me. hehe! :p) They exchange numbers and keep in touch. Latin dance people just come for lessons and go! lol.
We'll be starting tango next. i still have not gotten a dance partner. it would be good if you have a fixed partner cos everyone dance differently. Help!!! Desperately seeking a dance partner here!

Back to the Dance Floor
Yippie!! Dance class resumed today after all these months!! at last, there's finally enough to make up a class but only 2 of us are from the same beginner class. oh well, simply glad that this class visualised in the end. out of practice for so long... aching thighs and feet! but it was fun today! revised our steps, learnt some new technique and a new dance hold. it's now tummy to tummy! omg! hehe.
i'll be waltzing for the next 5 weeks and can't wait for the next lesson. we'll be learning the sashay! ooOoo.. i'm loving Wednesdays from now on!

Speechless!
What a major let down!
After anticipating for weeks, it had to accumulate to this! First time that i felt so stressed out in class. First, the class started late cos the instructor G was busy concentrating her time on other projects. Second, when she asked about our dance background, she was surprised that the few of us were only beginners! Hello! You were the one who suggested we come for this technique class when there were not enough to make up the intermediate. Now look who's talking! I felt like retorting her when she said that technique was for those who had done intermediate. But I kept my cool. Way to go, gal!
During the class, we practised the basic steps and were told to dance around the room. Being our first lesson, we were not clear of what she wanted us to do. Did she want a sequence? Oh gosh! We had forgotten the steps. And there was no partner for us today. I had to partner J and both of us did not know how to lead. After seeing our disastrous attempt, she said she just wanted us to move across the room using whatever steps we know. Need not be a sequence, just go with the flow. What crap! She should make herself clear right from the start! Finally we managed to manoeuvre round the room, albeit a little clumsy.

Before the class ends, she taught us a new step which i gathered the rest of the class knew prior cos they could even do a variation of the step! It was so difficult that I had even forgotten the name of the step!
Sigh... Too challenging and we simply did not enjoy the class. So after it ended, we talked to K to voice our grievances to switch back to an intermediate class. Alas! The next intermediate class is on 28 Nov. That's such a long time away! And who knows it might not realise if the numbers are too little. So he suggested we take a private class since there're 5 of us. But it'll be more expensive. We'd have control over the timing though... What to do... No choice cos we prefer K to G as we are more familiar with K who was our beginner instructor. We really dun like G. So what if she's the principal. She's just not as approachable.
So we'll have to wait till 9 Nov for our first lesson after accommodating everyone's schedule. Anticipating that day... Just hope that it won't be a let down again... Seeking for a 6th person to take up the class with us to share the cost so it would be cheaper! Male preferred! hehe.
Oh ya. They still have the audacity to collect fees for today's class from us! Words just could not describe my exasperation! So much so that i had to type my thoughts on my hp on my way home in the train. If not, I might fall sick if I bottle it up!

Friday blues
Sigh.... it's postponed again....
the school is so weird... they only call to confirm today's lesson today... so definitely some people didn't bring their dancing shoes out... so postponed to next week.... then 2 back out last minute... shesh.. left with 5 of us again... not big enough for a class... so next week's class is also KIV till dunno when...
finally they suggested that we take their "technique" class... where we will learn only waltz and taught by the principal herself... hmm... starting 22 oct... it's a monday... hopefully it won't be cancelled again!!! =_=

Dance Withdrawal Symptoms
Oh no!!! Been dancing and prancing at home... Sigh... Had graduated from beginner's class on Friday. Sadly, out of the 20 odd people from the beginner class, only 5 people wanted to continue with Intermediate. The number is too small for a class to be conducted... :(
Our instructor K came up with a wonderful idea. He wanted to plant the 5 of us as moles (LOL!) in the next beginner class so that we could double up as leaders (i.e. the Lead in the dance) and psyco the people to make up the numbers for an intermeditate class. Best of all, we can refresh the beginner class at no cost! Yippie!! But this only starts in Oct.... What am I going to do on Fri nights now?!

Fann Wong
Saw Fann rehearsing for her dunno-what's-the-title movie with the dunno-what's-his-name Korean actor in the dance school just now. She's super thin and wearing super thick makeup. Even with the super thick makeup, she's only decent looking... (My dancemates also think the same way!) Hmm..... I wonder how she looks like without makeup... She was rehearsing a certain pose the whole time. To give her credit, that pose does have the stance of a dancer...

Beginner Ballroom Dancing
I had my first dance lesson tonight. Whoa…. Didn’t realise that dancing could be so tiring! It is almost like working out in the gym! I can feel my muscles aching, after rounds and rounds of practicing the dance steps. We learnt the basic box steps and reverse turn of Waltz today. YZ and I had to partner each other cos there were not enough male partners to go around! Hehe! Anyway we took turns to be the "guy" in leading the dance. Hahaha. And of course I have to be the "guy" most of the time….. cos yz is erm….… even though she was wearing pants and I was in a skirt! But it was a whole lot of fun dancing even though we seemed to be moving at a faster pace than the others! Think we must learn to control ourselves, be more serious and slow down in the next lesson.

Super LOW........ week
In general, this has been a superrrrrrrrrrr lowwww morale week. Been feeling blue, even after the retail therapy on Tues, it did not seemed better. Unhappy events just happen one after another to dampen my whole week. This is simply not one of those weeks. Ok, I might be exagerating a little. One nice thing is I saw him thrice this week. Although each meeting did not last very long but I'm contended. Still, the whole week is still BLUE.....
How do girls destress?? Number 1, shop. I did that on tuesday. Number 2. Eat. That's what I did just now. Went for a japanese buffet at Emerald Hill Road. Read some reviews that the food is good but both YZ and I felt that it is only so-so. For $35, I do not think that the quality of the food is fantastic. Although sashimi is free flow, I think it is below average. Maybe we have high expectations for japanese food! Service is quite fast though. Maybe the place is a bit ulu, it is only about half filled on a Friday night. I don't think I will be going back in the near future.... Anyway, thanks to YZ for listening to all my grievances.
Oh yes! YZ and I signed up for a beginner ballroom dancing course! hehe. I had wanted to learn ballroom dancing since I was very young. I think I was inspired by Dirty Dancing even though that film is not about ballroom dancing. Anyway, I couldn't find someone to learn with me for ages. So when YZ suggested, I simply jumped at the idea! We went to check out the school and registered for it. We even bought our dancing shoes! Hehe. I spent an hour trying on the shoes cos I could not decide which pair was most suitable for me... The heels are all about 3" high! I feel very tall just wearing them. I could already feel my muscles ache just after trying them and walking around the shop. I just hope I won't break my back while dancing in them!
Looking forward to the Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix tomorrow! I think I will go and "revise" my Book 5 tonight! hehe!
