Festival of Drum & Dance 2009
It's the Japanese Cultural Festival again. Got to know the tickets for giveaway by chance. This afternoon's performance is of Japanese Drums and Dance. First time to such an event. The drums is quite good. Very hypnotising and energetic! But the dance is pretty amateurish. And it shows.
The next event is Choral and Harmonic on 13 Sep, followed by the Karaoke Competition in Oct. i'm planning to go as many as i can. These performances are quite interesting. Best of all is they're muryo! (i.e. free) :p Let me know if you wanna join me. :)

Truant
For once i was up early on a Sunday morning. But this year, after changing sensei and class, Jap lessons seems like a chore... Having really noisy and inconsiderate classmates do not help too. Since my tomodachis are not going today, the didn't-do-homework me also decided to skip class!
[Edited on 29 Sep] i'm a good girl afterall! i went for the replacement class today! And S-san gave me some yummy meiji choc biscuit dips. hehe. And i managed to finish my report! \(^^)/

Back to School
XJ-san and i decided to pull ourselves up on a nice lazy sunday morning to retake our jap class again cos we are so bored and there's no other better way to practice our language. Hmm... maybe only me, cos she's now working in a jap speaking environment... How i wish i can drop everything and go to the land of rising sun. That way, my jap will sure improve... Sigh... That is but a dream...

卒業した!! (そつぎょうした)
いよいよ... 最後の授業になりました...
For those who had known me for some time would know that it has been my routine to attend jap class every week for the past 6 years! gasp! it is that long!
This year is very special as i had mentioned before... there's no exams. correction... there's exam but there is no cert given so it makes no diff if you pass or not. so this is the first time that i'm so relaxed during test time! hehe.
last lesson today... some of my classmates are continuing next year (i.e. they are retaking our SA class)... wonder if i shld do that too...?? if 先生 is still 米倉先生 and if the format is about the same as this semester... i dun mind... but thought of picking up some new hobby too...

24th Japanese Song Karaoke Contest
Knew there would be enka... but didn't expect to have half of the contestants (uncles and aunties) singing enka which sounded like hokkien songs to me... to make things worse.. some aunties sitting behind us actually started singing along to some of the songs! (-_-")
Simply didn't know how they judge the contestants... well.. at least the winner sang a song that i heard of... the original japanese version of an old Jacky Cheung cantonese song, 遥远的她.
The saving grace were the guest performance by the winner of the previous year's contest. He sang Diamond Dust by Himuro Kyosuke from jdorama Koori no Sekai and Only Human by K from 1 litre of tears. quite nice.
The special guest was a Reiko Maruyama-san (or at least that is what the compere pronounced it as...) She was quite entertaining and knows how to miggle with the audience. Quite omoshiroi and professional.

Two weeks break
Hurray!! Jap test is over! Meaning there will be two weeks break from jap classes. No more cracking my brains over the presentation every week! hehe. sounds like a torture.... why am I still continuing with the last sem?? Maybe it is the LAST sem that's why I'm continuing ba........
Today's class only 7 students attended. I think everyone's siam-ing the test..... but with so few students meant we have to talk more during class. gasp! Lucky there's XJ-san to rely on when I'm lost for words. haa.......
Wonder how many will continue next sem?? hopefully there are more than 10pax......

Jap Class
Had not enjoyed my jap class like today in a long time...... yep. This is my 6th year in the school. Had thought that jap was an interesting and nice sounding language, so that intrigued me to learn it. And I had nothing to do anyway. At least there's something to occupy my time, rather then just going through the daily grind. The lessons started off quite well initially as elementary japanese was really simple. But then as I progressed, the grammar started to get more complicated and the amount of vocab that I need to memorise started to pile up. Gradually, going to jap class every week became just part of my routine as well.. But since I had started, I thought I might as well continue till the end. So that's why I'm still here...
But back to where I am now..... Today had to give two presentations. Yes, two. I had purposely missed last week's presentation as I thought I can "siam" the presentation by being late... Alas, 先生 told the latecomers to present it the following week. Hence I had to do two today... At least I was prepared for one of them. The other was impromptu. Nevertheless, 先生 said my 発表はよくできました。Hehe. And that brightened up my night!
Anyway, did i forgot to mention that this year there is no 作文?はい!今年は最後の授業なので、試験はないし、作文もない!やっぱり嬉しかった!
