International Museum Day

Free entry to museums today. Had wanted to visit the Peranakan and Asian Civilisation museums. But 天不做美 and 我经不起风吹雨打. So i hid under the warmth of the shopping malls instead. Haiz...

Si Chuan Dou Hua @ UOB Plaza

First visit to this 60-storey high restaurant. Very nice view of the cityscape. :)

This place serve their tea using the tea pot with the super long spout. Sometimes when you are engrossed in eating, you would see a metal spout suddenly appearing next to your face and "zzzp!" your tea cup is filled! Quite an experience.

We ordered about 10 dishes (mostly dim sum) which are not bad. 8 of us expended about $300. The tea is already $5 per cup. i think we were full from drinking too much of it cos the tea boy was really zealous in refilling our cups. hehe. Dining at such high places (i mean prices :p), i most probably would not come back in a long long time! Thanks to YK for the generous lunch treat!

Shin Kushiya @ Vivocity

The speciality is Japanese charcoal grill (kushiyaki) so don't try anything else other than that! I had the Mixed Kushiyaki Set which came with grilled skewers of shitake mushroom stuffed with minced chicken, prawn, chicken, bacon wrapped asparagus and some pork dunno-which-part, salad, potato salad, fruits, pickles, miso soup and rice. i thought my set was great value for money though it was not very cheap either. Better than the dismal Tosei Inaniwa Udon (cold udon with duck) and Oyako Don that my colleagues ate. Don't ever order those!

No pictures as usual. hee... :P

What's cooking?

Nothing beats homecooked food. Especially when food prices (and temperatures) are rising, you just feel like hibernating at home. Erm... Ok... not all are cooked from scratch. But hey! i still need to prepare them, ok!? So it is still home cooked! :P

辣炒年糕 which i prepared for lunch

Mummy cooked bak kut teh noodles for dinner

i melted some chocolate fondue for dessert. The round stuff which look like fishballs are yummy lemon marshmallows from Muji. :)

Singapore Arts Festival Opening Celebration

A whimsical myriad of extravaganza combining the two elements of fire and water. Somewhat comical, somewhat melancholy, somewhat peaceful, somewhat chaotic. i thought this performance Water Fools by French street theatre company Ilotopie has an eerie feel to it. i didn't quite like/understand it and everyone else seemed to have come for the fireworks anyway.

Waiting for the sun to set

Ajisen @ Tiong Bahru Plaza

Talk about ramen! My colleagues suggested having ramen today. So we went to try out this newly opened restaurant in TBP basement. I had the Hokkaido seafood ramen set lunch which came with a side dish and drink. The ramen is simply OISHII!!! My only complain is that the noodles are too straight, not the curly type. Otherwise it would be perfect! The side dish i chose - white fish is just normal average deep fried fish. Portions are huge though. Good value for money. :)

Kuriya (Again!?)

Today's supposed to be a welcome dinner for XX. Our 主角 was down with illness (prob still jet lag) but the rest of us went ahead anyway. YZ seemed to have fallen in love with this place. Ordered the tempura seiro again. Much nicer than paragon's. But portions have shrunk!

Gosh! Soba again!? What happened to ramen!! :P

Xin Wang HK Cafe @ Anchorpoint

Had the HK famous cheese baked pork chop spaghetti for lunch. Just would like to pen it down that the service here is fast and good. At least better than the Cineleisure branch! Food wise, nothing really worth mentioning. (though the baked spaghetti is okay but i thought the tomato sauce and the cheese do not really go well together).

Accuracy of Death

I've seen it!! hehe. Kaneshiro Takeshi wa KAKKOI!! Minikui janai. (^^,) Typical subtle Japanese movie. If you want a reason to watch, it would be him! Shinigami. Oh ya. Stay back to listen to the title track Sunny Day sang by lead actress Konishi Manami who plays Fujiki Kazue in the show. It's more worthwhile than waiting for the credits of Ironman. :p

Watching movie on Sunday at Cathay is even cheaper than weekday! Thanks to M1 promo. Buy one ticket and get the second at half price!!! Thanks to LF i paid only $7.50. Even better than the UOB promo! :)
