Va Va Voom Cafe

First visit to this small little Vietnamese restaurant next to Mushroom Park @ Seah Street. Had the beef noodle soup. The soup is quite nice cos as usual i gave away all the typical "grass" (i.e. mint, basil? parsley? and dunno-whats) that came with it. LOTS of meat but some parts of the beef are too dry. Prices are relatively cheap $7.80 for a big bowl. No service charge or gst! But the BEST part is it has the NICEST fish sauce i could find in Singapore. hehe. Been missing the ubiquitous fish sauce that i had ate in Vietnam. The prawn spring roll is nothing to scream about though.. would prefer to wrap it myself so that there wouldn't be any grass inside.. only nice vegetables and lots of fish sauce!! (^^,)

Top One Ktv

Located at the former Icon @ Bugis, this is a cheap alternative to Kbox and Partyworld. $20 to sing from 11am to 6pm on Sat which includes free flow of drinks. (all syrup, don't expect much). Good thing is they don't impose the compulsory snacks over here. Funny they don't have remote controls but an anti-social song request machine at a corner of the room which should have come with better instructions.

Warning: press the smoke button at your own risk! The sweet smelling choke inducing dry ice will stay in the room and takes some time to dissipate.

Oh but they have the Jay's concert version of 祝我生日快乐 with Landy.

Omu Rice!

Yay!! Finally satisfied my omu rice craving after since watching Lunch Queen. Yep it has been so long cos restaurants don't seem to sell it! Weird! i still like the omu rice here at Taka basement food court. Yum! (^^,)

Hayashi Omu Rice :)

The Canteen

First visit here. Tried the hanbaagu (hamburger steak) with rice. The food is ok but limited choices and if you are nursing a sore throat, you shouldn't be eating here cos all the food are the heaty sort. Was kinda expecting something more spectacular after learning that this is an offspring of Les Amis. Prices are certainly not canteen!

Biten by the Bug

No wonder i was looking so haggard this week! i was falling sick! Argh!! And i rarely come down with fever... i wonder what happened. Must be the bad air in the gym and the cornflake cookies i was stuffing myself with last night... My cookies are really potent! i could feel the effect almost immediately! i got a sore throat before bed last night. Haiz... serves me right... :(

27 Dresses

Just another romance comedy.

[Sidenote] Just wanna congrats PL on his big day today.

功夫熊猫

i'm in rental overdrive recently. Got this for the family. i really liked Kung Fu Panda but the taiwanese version is really yucky. Especially Wilber Pan who dubbed for Po. His diction is so bad, half the time i really can't understand what is he talking about.

Sex & The City The Movie

Rented this movie cos having never seen the series before, i wanted to see what all the hype was about. Basically the show is about 4 middle-aged women dealing with romance and sexuality. i do see how this chick flick will have girls going gaga over the many many clothes, bags and shoes with all the costume changes the girls have. It is watchable (not must-see) with a predictable plot but i still cannot understand why SJP is the icon she is. i mean the other girls look better than her!

Kylie X 2008

i got a call from the cd shop on new year's eve that they have a copy of the dvd for me. i found out that it was the last copy after the restock. lol. it's sold out as soon as it arrived! And i got mine cos the previous customer cancelled the reservation, so i bought it! ~~~i should feel so lucky lucky lucky lucky!~~~

i couldn't afford the tickets when she was here last year so this is the next best thing. What a lavish set! Since the concert is named after her last album, considerably it has lots of songs from that which i think is not as nice as some of the previous songs. But most of the more popular songs were there though i thought there a couple of slow moments in the concert. i liked the ending of the concert best. The last song was one of her earliest song years ago. (hint: the title is somewhere in this post. :p) What a showgirl! Pity i was watching it on a small dvd viewer.
